It is rarely advisable to undertake major capital expenditure simply to help a sale.
Extending, converting an outbuilding into an annexe or fitting an expensive kitchen are often best avoided, but it can be worthwhile to spruce up the house and garden, fit new kitchen cupboard doors or new taps in the bathroom.
